Education and capacity building for cultural actions is essential for Nigeria’s conservation and management plan to increase the number of heritage experts and build a critical mass of heritage enthusiasts across the country. This involves sensitization, training and information sessions on the UNESCO Recommendation and the World Heritage Convention. ICOMOS Nigeria provides education on site management, risk preparedness, and impact assessment for heritage management among others.
